Well, that wasn't my question, thanks. There were/are probably more than 10% missing, but my question was this: Some of the page changes are after only ten lines and the reason for them doesn't make sense. I can see it around the beginning of chapters and the like, but just in the midst somewhere, I don't get any reason for them. Think in the future I'll scan because I know how to do that. I can't reject it now because I've read it from cover to cover and corrected most of the errors in it. That does point up another question though. If you change a file from an .ark file to an .rtf file, do you have more page changes than you would have page breaks? I had changes of pages that, because I was in Word, the computer said "Page 75", but there is no page break there. Are they actually new pages with regard to the book? If not, that would answer my other question and make me wonder just exactly what to do with the book for sure. I might have to reject it then because I had to renew it already. Books must have page breaks in order to provide correct page navigation in the DAISY books and original page numbers in the BRF books. The guideline Lisa gave me in regards to rejecting books with missing page breaks is if the book is missing more than 10% of the page breaks, then it should be rejected. Note that this is a guideline, not a requirement, so use your best judgement, but be willing to reject if there are a lot of page breaks missing. No wonder I didn't know how. So following is the message I had sent when I wasn't subscribed. Yup! I'm a pretty darned good volunteer. I am on it, I might add. *smile* Anyway, I have a question. This question probably would be a good one to discuss in the chat room, but I have no microphone yet. Anyway, here's the question: I am proofreading a book in which all of the new pages do not have page breaks, but many do. Some of the pages are short, like ten lines, and refer to new pages, but there is no page break and there is no reason why such a page break would really need to be there. Does this screw up the software as they attempt to make the book user friendly? If so, how do you get out the page breaks? I have not edited RTF files before. Thanks.
