I did receive that message. It actually wasn't ever an ARK file since it
was already an RTF when I downloaded it for proofreading but I did get the
message you mentioned when I saved it with page numbers. The message I got
when I tried to open it in Word was something to the effect of Word was
unable to open this document. It may be corrupt. Then it went on to some
suggestion about opening it with some text recovery tool or to open and repair
the
file but I don't know how. There's only the okay button.

When you saved the openbook .ark file as an .rtf file did you hear the
message that yu have chosen to save in .rtf? Sometimes when I go to save an
.ark file in .rtf, the file name in the name file does not have the ..rtf
extension and I have to add it.
What did the error message in Word say?

I have a question. I opened the book in OpenBook 7.0 and typed page
numbers at the top of each page starting with the actual text of the book. I
saved it as an RTF file on my computer in two locations and on a flash disk.
When I opened it on my BrailleNote, it looked fine and when I went back and
opened it in OpenBook, it was fine, but when I tried to open it in Microsoft
Word, I got an error message. When I tried to open it in Word Pad, it
appeared empty. Thankfully, I've got the book saved several places from before
I put in page numbers but I'm wondering why it opens on my BrailleNote and
OpenBook but not Microsoft Word or Word Pad? Will it upload to Bookshare
this way or not? If this did something weird to the file, should I add page
numbers in usind Microsoft Word instead of using OpenBook? Thanks!
