Or, you can work with the .es file, do the user defined page number thing
once, then, when you're done the final editing, convert to rtf, check to
make sure the page numbers are still correct, and voila!

Hi Gail,
Do you know that using Kurzweil you can set an opperator defined
page number to make the first numbered page correspond with its number? What
I mean is that most books have preliminary pages before the first page of
actual page numbering. You can, using Kurzweil, find the first numbered
page and tell Kurzweil to number that page according to its print page
number. When you do this, all pages before that page, assuming it is page
one, though it isn't always, will be preliminary pages. That might help
your pages match the table of contents. If you are working with an rtf
document, you'll have to redefine the page number of the first numbered page
each time that you open the file in Kurzweil, but that isn't difficult.
Just a thought. If you need help using this technique, just ask.

I would gladly validate cookbooks. I have Kurzweil but I dislike KES
files they always give me trouble.
I'm trying to validate The South Beach Supercharged and I must have
messed up the numbering somehow because they don't agree with the Table
of Contents. I can't redo them because the entire book would have to
be redone to make them match accordingly. Yikes!!!
I've already done a lot of work on this book.
I feel really bad it's taking a long time to get it into the collection
but I want it to be as perfect as possible.
