Hi Anne,

Here it is in text:

Hi again volunteers,

We have a really exciting opportunity that I wanted to share with all of you. Please see below.

"Would you write a short poem about your nonprofit's mission for a $10, 000 cash grant?

This could potentially be the most fun application ever written! The format is a 4-8 line original poem that "reflects the work or mission of the applicant nonprofit organization."

It can be written by a staff member, a consumer of our services, or a VOLUNTEER. The winning poem will be turned into a song by the Blind Boys of Alabama (who will then own the copyright to the song, although the winning org. will still retain rights over the poem).

The 4–8 line format is merely a guideline. Your poem can be longer or shorter, in any style you wish, rhyming or not. Please note, however, that very lengthy poems are less likely to be chosen as winners, due simply to space constraints on our website and printed materials."

We know how creative Bookshare's volunteers are, so I wanted to share this and give anyone interested a chance to participate! Please email poems to Purnima (purnimag@xxxxxxxxxxxx) with your contact information and permission for us to use the poem by this Friday (14/13) at 12pm PST.

Good luck and happy writing!

Best,

Madeleine Linares
