[bksvol-discuss] Adult ratings

I just validated a book which made me realize that an
Adult rating by itself isn't sufficient. One needs to
know why it's rated Adult. An Adult rating does not
keep me from reading a book but this particular book,
if I'd known more explicitly why it's Adult-rated, I
probably wouldn't choose to read. Likewise, I don't
like to read books where there is violent rape or
graphic torture. I suggest that even where a book is
rated Adult, in the long synopsis people put the
reasons. Unfortunately, I didn't do this--the long
synopsis was a good description of the book in
general, and it was late and I didn't think of it. I
will write a review where I will put that in to
forewarn people who might not want quite as much
graphic descriptive detail. I'm just posting this to
suggest that people do put in a little more detail
when they think it might be useful. smile
