Either I place the page I want in the middleof the scanner (but I sometimes move it when I scan which isn't good. smile) or I place the book's pages toward the bottom or top of the scanner rather than the sides. Usually there is enough space before or after the text so that no text gets cut off. P.S. another problem with scanning 2 pages at a time. I've proofed books where sentences from each of the pages get mixed up. It then takes time to figure out which sentences belong where. smile Cindy Wish List (i.e., books wanted added to the collection) and books-being-scanned list available at sites below Wish List: https://wiki.benetech.org/display/BSO/Bookshare+Wish+List Books Being Scanned List: https://wiki.benetech.org/display/BSO/Books+Being+Scanned+List
