Sunday afternoon, at Pearson Road, I was able to get closer than usual to a
White-rumped Sandpiper and get pictures that show all the points that separates
this peep from other peeps - its reddish bill, primaries extending beyond tail
feathers, side streaks and white rump.
Otherwise, nothing exceptional, other than large numbers of Semipalmated
Sandpipers at Parsons Pond. I haven’t had much in the way of unusual shorebirds
so far this year.
