The usual interlopers are House Sparrows and Starlings. I sometimes see the
Tree Swallows in and around the Martin house but they don’t try to nest. Then
there was the Kestrel who came by for lunch.
The Starlings don’t tolerate people so if I walk around in the yard they leave.
The Sparrows can be very persistent though. They can fill a Martin nest cavity
with their snorkel nest in a few hours.
