Ventured out to Tom Sawyer Park to check on displaying Woodcocks around dusk tonight. Was joined by Tom Ackerson and a coworker of his and also later by two photographers. A little after twilight we were greeted with "peent" calls from both sides of the trail. Display flights began soon after. At least 5 woodcocks were seen in display flights. Perhaps more were around. No owls were seen but a Great horned was heard in the distance. The walk back to the car was chilly but nice with the full moon rising behind us casting moon shadows.
