This email is to let eBird users know of a change in review from eBird
central.

A new status -- “Deferred” -- will be used going forward when an email
request for documentation has been sent. These records will remain in the
review queue until either:
- It's reviewed again and a final decision made *OR*
- the user adds documentation (see below) *OR*
- 14 days have elapsed
Once 14 days have elapsed, these will have a final decision of
Documentation-Inadequate applied and will be removed from the review queue
(but still can be found in Search). Anything in the review queue (i.e.,
"Unreviewed", "Rereview", or "Deferred") records will appear on eBird
Alerts with the “UNCONFIRMED” text.
3) *Adding documentation automatically resurfaces records*
This is a major change. Previously, adding documentation to an unconfirmed
record might not be seen by a reviewer. Now, adding photos will place any
unconfirmed record in “Rereview” status and adding notes will place records
in "Rereview" if they had been marked “Deferred” or had been “Unconfirmed”
with reason “Documentation Inadequate”, including "Documentation
Inadequate-Count" and Documentation Inadequate-Species". This will help to
remove records that have had documentation requests and help make it clear
that the eBirder bears responsibility for providing more documentation at
this stage. Note that deleting photos will have no effect on review
decisions.
