Obviously, hunting Sandhills is about trophies, not meat! If it were about
meat, I would not object. Sandhill season is all about trophies, trophies,
trophies.

If Fish & Wildlife sell 400 permits and only 50 Sandhill Cranes are killed,
won't they just raise the limit to 800 next year on the basis that few were
killed this year. Sounds to me like this plan has the potential to
back-fire. Linda Craiger / Glasgow

PS Steve, I would not mind it so much if the cranes were actually eaten,
but many hunters find a reason not to eat what they kill..... like, too much
buckshot in it, the bird was old & tough, it ran away & they could not find
it, etc, etc. I have lots of family members who are hunters, and they
don't eat what they kill.
