Saturday Jan.8, 2005: A group of yellow-rumped warblers foraged through
some flooded timber along the Ohio River at the Lewis County WMA. I
don't know for sure how many warblers were present, maybe a dozen. The
warblers were part of a group of more common winter birds including
chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, a downy, and some bluebirds.
Unfortunately I learned from the Lexington newspaper today (1-10-04)
that AEP is re-considering the construction of a power plant at this
site or another downstream.
