An enjoyable couple of hours at McConnell Springs, downtown Lexington, reve= aled; Magnolia warblers, first fall males? Blue-winged warbler, fall male? Redstart, first fall male? Ovenbird Canada warbler (gorgeous views of a male, feeding on the ground) Swainson's thrush Baltimore oriole, female Cedar waxwing (not necessarily a migrant). Almost all of our birds were seen from the comfort of the wooden bench besi= de the 'Blue Hole', a small pond 5 minutes from the entrance. The springs= is a very nice place to be on a hot afternoon, quite a bit of shelter ar= ound the streams, I fully recommend it. Earlier this week, in suburban Lexington, I saw Nashville warbler, fall male? Blackburnian warbler, fall female Cheers Ian Ian Stewart T.H.
