Jeff Sole and I went do to Madisonville back on 12/17 to look for the Prairie
Falcon and photographed a very dark raptor along Brown Rd that we originally
thought was a dark phase Red-tailed, that we listed as a Harlan's. The photos
eventually made their way to Brian Sullivan at eBird who made the call of a
dark phase Rough-legged Hawk. Unfortunately he did not share his reasoning.
There were at least two of the very dark birds around and possibly three. Jeff
also got a photo of one along Frostburg Rd.
