Migrants have become noticeable in the Bowling Green area the past few days also with many of the reported species being recorded. Additional highlights are listed below. April 4 SLOUGHS WMA KOS/BECKHAM TRIP Bald Eagles on nest w/ chicks Sora (3) Both yellowlegs Solitary Sandpiper (2) Fish Crow (2) Rusty Blackbird (~20) April 6 DRAKES CREEK/FRANKLIN Chimney Swifts April 9 BARREN w/David Brown Caspian Tern (10) Checked on a report of white pelicans at the Narrow's but missed them. April 13 CHANEY Lesser Yellowlegs (~100) April 15 CHANEY Pectoral Sandpiper (~80) Long-billed Dowitcher April 16 BARREN Common Loon (~30) Forster's Tern SHAKER MILL/WARREN (my house) RT Hummer (1st) House Wren April 18 MCELROY (water in ditch only) Stilt Sandpiper (3) CHANEY Black-bellied Plover (2) Semipalmated Plover UPLAND SANDPIPER (2...calling and singing their wild-sounding "wolf-whistle" song which is not often heard in Ky.)
