Today at about 1:00 or so, I had a few shorebirds on a flooded cornfield off Fern Valley right by a college (name escapes me) a mile or so east of the Preston Highway intersection which included 2 Wilson's Snipe and 2 Pectoral Sandpipers which were a first for the year. On the river I encountered about what Brainard saw, however on Saturday I had 2 Blue-winged Teal, 4 Shovelers and a female Goldeneye and today I found 6 Bonaparte's Gulls at the Clark Cabin area below the dam. Other than that not as much as I was hoping to fall out and reduced visibilty, coupled with relatively miserable, indecisive weather made for a less the appealing day to be out and about.
