More than 80 folks enjoyed the KOS spring meeting at Mammoth Cave NP
last weekend; more than 100 species were seen in the park environs. Most
of the birds were returning summer residents, but it was certainly nice
to see all of the warblers, orioles, tanagers, and vireos ... I don't
think I've ever seen/heard so many Cerulean Warblers at MCNP.

If anyone who was birding around the park on Sunday had a species they
think may have been missed at the Saturday night list compilation,
please forward them to me ... Don Martin has already emailed me with
Green Heron and Purple Finch. Don't worry if we already had the species;
I'll just add onto the list what is new.

Eddie Huber and I spent part of Saturday around Chaney Lake in Warren
County; some might like to know that the Lark Sparrows have returned to
nearby Vance Road where they were on territory last year. We saw two
pairs.
