It was indeed exciting to see such a dramatic increase in both number and
variety over that 24 hour period; only shorebirds the previous evening were
6 Lesser Yellowlegs along with the ubiquitous Killdeer.

There has been VERY little action at the Melco flood retention basin in
southern Jefferson County, but all that changed yesterday. Rand Falls and
Michael Autin both happened to check it last evening after work. I got a
call from Michael at 815 to tell me that there was a Buff-breasted
