Two visits to Caperton Swamp over the weekend. Here are some of the more interesting observations. On Saturday, Mary had the following: * 12 warbler species, female/immature unless noted otherwise: mourning (adult female), golden-winged warbler (beautiful male; good looks as it fed right over path), bay-breasted, ovenbird, chestnut-sided, prothonotary, blue-winged (2 males), Wilson's (2 males), 2 black-and-white, 4 Am. redstarts, 3 Tennessee, many magnolia. * yellow-bellied flycatcher (flycatching and vocalizing from perches) * female scarlet tanager * 2 Swainson's thrushes. During a very short visit on Sunday, the two of us had the following: * 9 warbler species, female/immature unless noted otherwise: mourning (imm. female with split eyering), Canada, Wilson's, yellow, chestnut-sided, 2 Tennessee, 2 Am. redstarts, 3 ovenbirds, 8(?) magnolia.
