Eddie Huber and I saw 3 White-winged Crossbills at the cemetery at St. Anne's Convent near Melbourne in Campbell County this afternoon. The birds were quite "flighty" and we only got one brief look at a pale pink male before it flew. This is where Frank Renfrow saw a White-winged a few days ago. We also checked Evergreen Cemetery at Southgate but found no uncommon finches. Above Meldahl Dam on the Ohio River in Bracken County the only semi-unusual waterbirds encountered were a pair of Common Mergansers. Waterfowl and gull numbers have decreased there subsequent to the most recent rise in the river level. bpb & ebh, Louisville ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
