Today I went to Minor E Clark Hatchery and Cave Run Lake in Rowan county hoping for good looks at some waterfowl and to relocate the White-winged Scoter. Unfortunately, it was pretty dull there today waterfowl-wise and there were no signs of the scoter. One highlight was a female Northern Harrier flying low around the hatchery. Afterwards, I stopped by Lexington Cemetery to search for the reported crossbills (which still I have yet to see after searching about a half dozen times). It almost didn't matter that the crossbills didn't show up when two Fox Sparrows came out of nowhere with a huge group of American Robins.
