Lexington had it's area CBC yesterday. Great turnout, with close to 40 folks
participating. We had an amazing 88 species, which is the highest species count
in recent memory for us! Highlights included the lesser black-backed gull and
great egret at the causeway, bald eagle, palm and orange-crowned warblers. We
also got just about all the possible, but irregulars including winter wren,
tree, savannah and fox sparrows, brown creeper, and red-breasted nuthatch. Only
real misses may have been northern harrier and red-headed woodpecker.
