Roseanna Denton and I spent part of the day watching gulls and waterfowl at Barkley and KY Lakes. The number of large gulls seemed to be down but Bonaparte's and Ring-billed gulls were numerous. We did see one Adult Lesser Black-backed Gull sitting on the rock jetty at the boat ramp below KY Dam. Earlier in the day I scoped several of the bays along Blood River. Highlights from all areas were: Horned Grebe Common Loon -1 DC Cormorant -1 Bufflehead Ring-necked duck Ruddy Duck Gadwall Common Goldeneye Lesser scaup Least Sandpiper Great Horned Owl Yellow-rumped warbler Hap Murray, KY ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
