Apparently they are territorial this time of year. Because during summer they
associate together with no apparent problems.
But, then, I have never seen a Great Egret this late in the season.

A great blue would not let an egret stay at a pond near my house this Fall
either. Who knew?

Highlight:
1 Great Egret. Flagged by eBird.
The Great Egret flew in to Lake Penn, landed and was immediately chased off
by a Great Blue Heron. I have never seen this before.
The heron chased the egret for 1/4 to 1/2 mile. Eventually the egret returned
to Lake Penn, then later I saw it Lake Davis. (Unless there were 2 Great
Egrets!)
