Great news. The trails beyond the boardwalk are now open. No signage but that
is no problem.
I met and talked with Allen Mayo out there. Allen is a naturalist attached to
Audubon State Park and is in charge of developing the area.
They are currently working on a bridge off to the left of the end of the
boardwalk. More bridges are in the plans and eventually a 2 mile loop will be
made.
All the trails will be graveled and handicap accessible.
There are a lot of plans for the area, but will take time and money to
implement.
Spring will be great for birding there.
