I went out to the waterfront to try to find the reported Surf Scoter
(which I did spot), and I saw a group of unusual geese napping on the
lawn under one of the bridges. I've never seen them before, and Merlin
wouldn't pull up anything similar, but when I got home I compared my
photos to the Audubon field guide and found the Greater White-fronted
goose. I looked through photos on eBird, and they seem to match up. It
looks like there's only 1-2 reports per year for the last several years
on eBird, and none with photos. I put some photos on my checklist here:
https://ebird.org/checklist/S62775977
There were 2 similar-sized white geese with them. The white geese had
some dark feathers poking out their wing tips. I'm not sure what they
were, so I listed them as "goose sp." on my checklist, and attached
photos.
