Melissa Easley and I met at Jonathan Creek this morning to start our portion
of the LBL CBC. Highlights at Jonathan Creek were 5 Forster's terns and one
lone Least Sandpiper. At KY Dam I met up with David Roemer and Mark Bennett
where we watched a second winter Laughing Gull flying below the dam. Mark
headed back toward his assigned territory and David and I spent the afternoon
birding around KY dam. The highlights were 2 juvenile Glaucous Gulls resting
above
KY Dam straight out from the pull off. We later went to Little Bear Creek
boat ramp where David spotted 2 Red-throated loons. We had good looks at one
of
loons and decent looks at the second loon. We ending our day watching and
listening to the hundreds of Common Goldeneye moving up the lake to spend the
night.
