FLORIDA GRASSHOPPER SPARROW TECHNICIANS needed to work on study of the
endangered Florida Grasshopper Sparrow at Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area
in south-central Florida during March - June 2012. Some flexibility in start
and end dates. Duties include mist-netting and color banding sparrows, finding
and monitoring nests, re-sighting marked birds, behavioral observations,
vegetation monitoring, and conducting point counts for sparrows and other
prairie birds. Technicians also will help with monitoring fire ant distribution
and applying experimental management interventions around sparrow nests. Pay is
dependent upon experience and qualifications, but typically ranges from $12.00
- 13.00/hr, with simple field-housing provided on site.
Please encourage potential candidates to submit a brief cover letter, CV and
the contact information for three references
toErin.Ragheb@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:Erin.Ragheb@xxxxxxxxx>
