Took the suet baskets out around 7:15 AM and looked out of the bedroom at
7:30 to see the first Red Headed Woodpecker I've ever seen on this
property. We built our little retirement cottage here on the Morgan
Magoffin line more than 17 years ago. It made itself right at home flying
from one basket to another and had no problem confronting the Red Bellies,
Downys and Hairys as they arrived. :)
Yesterday we had a Mockingbird singing from one of the tree tops out
front. Very rare for this woodsy ridgetop. It's been 8 to 10 years since
the last one stopped by for a sing. :)
Had FOS Indigo Bunting sampling the cracked corn in the driveway yesterday.
