I had a hunch that activity might pick up this morning at the Falls and sure enough the first two birds I get my scope on are Whimbrels and sitting right beyond them were 8 American Avocets. I was viewing from the deck at the Visitors center looking towards the flood wall that has a pool of water adjacent to it. I first got there about 8:30 AM and left around 10:30 AM and these birds were still there.
Others seen:
Caspian Terns
Short-billed Dowitchers
Greater Yellowlegs
Semi-palmated Plovers
Wood Ducks
Blue-winged Teal
Great Egrets
Some peeps
Major Waltman
