[birdky] Bonaparte's Gull 24 June 2002

An adult Bonaparte's Gull was present on Barren
Reservoir in Barren/Allen Counties this afternoon. It
had begun its molt to basic plumage and was losing the
dark cap. It is EXTREMELY unusual to see this bird in
Kentucky in the middle of summer. You just never know
what's out there 'till you go!
