Have enjoyed the last five mornings in the Barlow and Oscar bottoms chasing turkeys. During this time I have noticed a steady increase in migrant songbird activity: I had opportunity to observe some wood duck courtship behavior I had never seen until today. I watched a drake wood duck attempt to mount a hen in flight and force her to land in a slough with 2 other drakes in pursuit. Last I saw them she was still trying to escape the trio.
