Drove around Ballard this morning in hopes that the recent storms had grounded
some shorebirds. No such luck. Water is everywhere and most lakes and sloughs
are bank full. Most decent shorebird habitat is sheet water. A few highlights
include:
Gr. Egret 8
Pied-b grebe 3
Snow goose 4
Mallard 3
Blue-w teal 12
Green-w teal 10
Shoveler 5
Pintail 1
Hooded Merganser 2
Wood duck 2
Greater Yellow-legs 2
Lesser Yellow-legs 1
6 large sandpipers flying high (likely pecs)
Eur collared dove 2 (Oscar)
Fish crows
Vesper sparrow 2
Savannah sparrow 2
A. Pipit 2
BREWERS BLACKBIRD 25 (Smokey road feedlot)
