Had someone send an email to Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary with a second hand report of a Bald Eagle seen along the North Fork of the Elkhorn in Scott county. Here is the text from the email. A friend that has lived on the North Elkhorn Creek, off Galloway Rd in Scott County (just north of Midway) for 30 plus years saw his first mature bald eagle last week. He saw the outline of a large bird in the trees near his house, and first thought it was a very large vulture. Watching from behind a large tree, he saw the white head of a bald eagle. When he peaked from behind the tree, the eagle started to fly away and he saw a large fish the eagle was holding. Are eagles nesting in this area, or is it most likely the eagle seen was just passing through?
