The KOS/Beckham Bird Club field trip to Mammoth Cave National Park was held
this past Sunday, 9-26-04. Twenty-two observers found 56 species on a
beautiful sunny day. Thirteen species of warblers were seen and a Pileated
Woodpecker eating poison ivy berries was interesting.

Highlights included the warblers: Tennessee, Nashville, Chestnut-sided,
Magnolia, Blk-thr. Green, Yellow-throated, Pine, Prairie, Bay-breasted,
Black-and-White, American Redstart, Ovenbird, and Common Yellowthroat.
Blue-headed and Philadelphia Vireos were also observed.

A very neat little Ring-necked Snake was observed at close range in the
Turnhole Bend area of the park.
