Tuesday 9-17-02
After spending the morning looking for warblers in the Land Between the
Lakes I meet up with David Roemer to look for the SABINE'S GULLS being seen
above KY Dam. The two Sabine's were observed on the west side of the lake
both in flight and sitting on the water...beautiful wing pattern!
Other interesting birds sighted:
Laughing Gull (at least 2) above KY Dam and (2) below Smithland Dam)
Lesser Black-backed Gull (1)immature below Smithland Dam
MARBLED GODWIT (2) on a sandbar below Smithland Dam, a real surprise!
