Tree planting volunteers and staff from the Clarks River National Wildlife Refuge were treated to a visit from 13 Sandhill Cranes this morning. The cranes looked like they wanted to join in the fun but when they saw the muddy conditions they moved on. The "Friends" of the Clarks River National Wildlife Refuge are in the process of restoring 100 acres of wetland. We will have planted 3,600 hardwood trees when the project is completed.
