Watch for Prothonotary Warblers. Extremely rare there but we recorded
one last June. Porter's Creek Trail. Maybe you can have the third
sighting since 1972.

I've got family plans this weekend, however...which leads to my question. I'm going to the Smokies! I've not birded there before. I picked up a couple of new birds for the property (Scott Co) on Monday, a Barn Owl and a Chuck-will's-Widow. You never know what you will find when you go out for a walk. Went back out to look for them both today, but it looks as if they did not stay around. Also stopped into Spindletop (Lexington) while running errands and found a couple of Bobolinks, a Grasshopper Sparrow and several Solitary Sandpipers.
