Rhonda and I had a single common merganser at the causeway today along with a
bald eagle that was probably a 3rd year (nearly all white tail). I could find
nothing unusual mixed in with the approximately 1000 geese in a number of
flocks observed about.
We also a gorgeous peregrine and a female merlin at spindletop. I have never
had both of those on the same day before. We got to watch the peregrine in good
light make strong flight, what a bird. As many as 60 horned lark had no
longspurs mixed in.
