Thank you for everyone's insightful involvement in this lively discussion. The
group is better off because of exchanges like this. Even when our
preconceptions are challenged it can broaden our understanding. I know mine
certainly have been challenged. There are many educated, conscientious, members
in the group. Surely we can learn from each other.
I also hope this type of discussion acts as a motivator for conservation. We
all care about conserving the habitats we have and restoring those we don't yet
have. Let's put these strong feelings for conservation to good use. I want the
group to be involved in these type projects officially (as a group). But until
those projects have wings, please get involved with other local groups doing
good work (CKAS, TNC, Reforest the Bluegrass, town projects for habitat, ect.).
If you know of any volunteer opportunities, please inform the rest of the
group. Those of you with more of an advocacy skill-set, lead us in discussing
conservation issues with our local elected leaders.
