I forgot to add that while I was at Spindletop I was flagged down by a Dr.
Steve Higgins of UK. He's the Director of Animal and Environmental Compliance
at the College of Agriculture. He is the person to thank for the no mow buffer
zones by the streams. He is trying to instigate a similar plan at the horse
park and was hoping I'd start birding there.
He's looking for positive feedback on the buffer zones so he can bring the
message to the horse park board so it can get implemented there.
