I know you would be there if you could. We lots of great help and got 2200
plants in the ground then Marianne gave us 200 more milkweed plants that she
said "need to go in the ground". Apparently they don't winter over well. So
we'll be working on that for the next week or so, albeit at a more leisurely
pace!

Sorry we weren't able to help out this time--we are over our head with the
development issue going on across from us on the reservoir. Keep us in mind
for future projects, though. What a great project--thanks for doing it!Suzanne

Subject: [birdcky] Native Plant Project
Hello again fellow birders. With the help of numerous volunteers we have
nearly 1600 plants in the ground out at the Kentucky Horse Park. We still have
about 600 to go. If you can spare a few hours, we'll be working tomorrow from
9-noon and same time Friday if we don't get them all in tomorrow. I have
plenty of shovels and water. You just need work gloves. If you plan to come,
here are the directions:
The Park is at 4089 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington. Go in the main entrance and
tell the person at the guard gate that you are a volunteer meeting with Annie.
They should let you in without paying. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd
exit onto Cigar Lane. We will be working about a half mile up on the left.
And thanks to all of you who have already come out to help!
Betsy
