I birded a couple of spots around the county this afternoon in the rain.
The highlight was a Common Tern at Owsley Fork. Had two Caspian Terns, one
at the Kentucky River at Fort Boonesborough and one at Lake Reba. There
were 7 Northern Shoveler at Lake Reba and 4 Blue-winged Teal at Owsley Fork.
There were also 13 Pied-billed Grebes at Owsley. There were a couple
shorebirds out, mostly Killdeer and Spotted Sandpipers. There were two
larger than peep sandpipers at Owsley, likely Baird's or White-rumped. Rain
forced an inconclusive ID.
Passerines were almost non-existent due to the weather, but a very bright
Savannah Sparrow off Duncannon Road was a nice find.
