Mark,
I had a Henslow's last week at the Perryville Battlefield. It was in a field to
the South - East of the gravel road, after the gravel road had reached the
ridgetop. Not good directions, but not sure how to tell you exactly where. I
was just walking the mowed paths and probably walked about 2.5 to 3 miles. I
also had one a month or so ago at Camp Nelson back toward the backend of the
big fields.
Good Luck!
Jeff

Subject: [ask] Henslow's Hunt
It seems I'm engaging in an annual summer search for a Henslow's sparrow. My
success has been pretty poor thus far this season. No sparrows on the Orange
trail of Raven Run back at the end of April (?too early). No Henslow's at Camp
Nelson on the ASK walk earlier this month. Last week I couldn't find any of the
birds on the West lot trail at Shaker Village (where it's been reported in the
past). I'm running out of options, certainly in Fayette county. I was going to
try Hisle Park (i.e. Briar Hill Park) on the north side of town this week
(Thursday or Friday maybe). Anyone want to join me? Has anyone had any better
success with finding Henslow's?
