I have not been out purely birding recently but a few birds are of mention.
Best bird is a Common Loon at Lake Reba. I had a 1st or 2nd Cycle Herring
Gull fly by me the other day out hunting. There have been periodic flocks
of Ring-billed Gulls at Reba, along with large flocks of Northern
Shovelers, a couple Scaup (both species), Gadwall at Lake Reba. Not to
many other birds to note, have seen a couple Harriers around the county
(Madison) and a single winter wren. Duck numbers are super low and hardly
any pushes of new birds are being noticed. Maybe it will turn brutal cold
in February and a Snowy Owl will make its presence known in these parts.
