Hi All, Yesterday was a fair day for migrants here in our yard on the mountain with 34 species counted. A flock of 6 Eastern Kingbirds were sitting in the top of an apple tree hawking insects. Two Wood Pewees were doing the same in the backyard, and a Great Crested Flycatcher stopped by for a few minutes. The first Magnolia Warbler of the season came to bathe and drink in the yard stream. Other warblers that showed up were Black-and-white 1 Blackburnian Warbler 3 (2 adult females and one 1st year female) Chestnut-sided Warbler (1st year female) Tennessee Warbler 4 Worm-eating Warbler 1 Yellow-breasted Chat 1 Yellow-throated Warbler 2 Other interesting birds were Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2 Brown Thrasher 2 Cedar Waxwings 8 Eastern Bluebird 2 Eastern Towhee 2 Indigo Bunting 3 Red-shouldered Hawk 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird 3 Song Sparrow 3 Some photos can be seen at http://www.pbase.com/mayhorn/gallery/migration_2 Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
