Took a walk around Osceola Island and Bent Branch (Spillway Trail) this morning. Almost all the regular birds were seen today. November 14,2010 9:00am-11:45am Overcast, 55-60 degrees Eastern Bluebird Brown Creeper Carolina Wren Winter Wren Ruby-crowned Kinglet Golden-crowned Kinglet Carolina Chickadee Tufted Titmouse White-breasted Nuthatch Red-breasted Nuthatch Tufted Titmouse Pileated Woodpecker Red-bellied Woodpecker Eastern Phoebe American Goldfinch White-throated Sparrow Song Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco Yellow-rumped Warbler Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker Bufflehead Mallard I've attached two pictures of an unusual encounter I had walking out of Bent Branch Trail. You don't expect to see a snake in mid-November. Looks like a young Eastern Black Racer. Hopefully, someone will tell me if that's right. Gary Cooper Bristol, Virginia
