Dear Fellow Educators,

I am so pleased to be able to write to advise you that my eBook company,
StarWalk Kids Media, is a BAISL vendor.

I founded StarWalk Kids Media in 2012 along with my wife Liz Nealon (the former
Creative Director of Sesame Street and creator of the PBS literacy series
Ghostwriter). Our goal was to create a collection consisting of the highest
quality, well-written trade books, both fiction and nonfiction, for children in
grades K-8. In just 2.5 years of operation I am proud to say that we have
become one of the foremost publishers of quality mentor texts by well-known and
respected children's authors.

Our collection of beautifully-narrated eBooks is delivered by streaming access
to anywhere the user has Internet connectivity, and is ideal for access at
school or from home.

But you don't have to take my word for it. Click on any of these thumbnails to
view a video trailer for the eBook:

We've assembled a powerful list of over 520 eBooks, and I'm so pleased to have
70 of my own eBooks in the collection. Look at these great features:

Exclusive eBooks from award-winning authors and illustrators including David A.
Adler, Jim Arnosky, Johanna Hurwitz, Emily Arnold McCully, Pat Mora, Laura
Vaccaro Seeger, Bernard Waber, Jane Yolen and many others.

Affordable. Check the NING for your BAISL discounted subscription price. As the
collection continues to grow during your subscription year, new eBooks will
flow into your collection at no additional cost. Along with month long BAISL
trial which starts next week, we also offer a 14-day free trial for those who
would like to sample.

Multi-User. A whole class (or even the whole school!) can read the same book at
the same time without check-in/check-out delays or waiting lists.

Device neutral. Our browser-based StarWalk Reader™ software works on virtually
any computer, tablet, mobile device or interactive whiteboard with Internet
access and support for color and sound.

Perfect for use in school libraries, 1:1 Technology and Curriculum programs.
Includes professional narration, word highlighting and other features designed
especially for using our eBooks on Interactive Whiteboards.
<http://starwalkkids.com/about-us/contact-us.html?mode=trial>My friend Linda
Hoyt is the chair of our Educational Advisory Board, and she has put together a
team of literacy curriculum specialists who analyze each book, suggest
alignment with Common Core and other state standards, and suggest
age-appropriate ways to use them in the classroom. We call these support
documents "Teaching Links," and you can download one for every book in the
collection.

One of the things I've learned while building this digital publishing company
is the power of metadata. Our powerful search function allows you to locate
titles by Guided Reading Level, Lexile® and Accelerated Reader® level so
teachers can create and assign reading lists at just the right reading and
interest levels for their students. Once a teacher has created a list, it can
be can assigned to a single student, a class, a reading group, or the entire
school.

In the autumn we will be introducing our new collaborative writing software
called the StarWalk Writer™, the development of which has been funded by the
National Science Foundation. This powerful program, which is aligned with the
curriculum of the Reading and Writing Project at Columbia Teachers College,
allows students to read, research and write collaboratively, in real time,
using our eBooks, teacher-selected Internet sites and popular databases as
sources. Currently in testing and drawing rave reviews from both teachers and
students, the StarWalk Writer program will offer exciting new ways to utilize
digital resources to enrich your students' learning experience.

<http://www.starwalkkids.com/writer>I have listed the contact information for
our team below. Please reach out to them to assist you in making StarWalk Kids
Media titles available to your students.

As I've often told librarians, teachers and administrators, I wanted my eBooks
to be available on the best possible platform…so I built it! I hope that you
will give our StarWalk Kids eBooks a try and see for yourself the quality of
what we have developed to support 21st Century learners.

Sincerely,
