I wanted to thank you all for being such a strong team, offering support
and community throughout the last nine years I have worked at SCDS. As the
sole librarian at my TK-8 school in Sonoma County, fairly isolated
geographically, I didn't have much time to be more involved in the
organization itself. But I definitely relied on it and looked forward to
the regular meetings for connection and affirmation and information--and
always got it. I am now retiring, and I have recommended to my successor
that he join Baisl immediately.
I will miss the always-stimulating email conversations, and even though
school is out and I am not returning in the fall, I continue to think about
curriculum, wanting to share with my colleagues what literature 8th grade
Humanities teachers in the Baisl circle are planning to use to support and
encourage all the social justice issues now in the headlines with the Black
Lives Matter movement. Good luck, and carry on your important work.
