I want to thank everyone who responded to my request about the use of Speak
in their school curriculum. I received tons of responses and a good bit of
healthy outrage at the idea of parents being able to pull a book that the
teacher wants to use. It's all still in process - the teachers and middle
school director are upset, the word is getting around the upper school and
causing a good bit of conversation, and I've heard rumors that some 8th
grade parents who don't agree with this decision are making their own
argument. We'll see where it goes from here.

Cheers,

Cathy
